See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil!

SketchSunday #1

My brother was kind enough to let me ‘borrow’ his drawing tablet. (I asked if I could use it and as long as he doesn’t ask about it, I’m keeping it.) Let me start this post by saying that I’m no artist. Drawing was actually one of my worst subjects in High School. I barely passed the class. I love to draw, though, and I’m not going to let some stupid High School teacher stop me from doing something I love. I’ve been messing around with this tablet for a few months now and decided it was time to share my latest drawing.

Again, I’m no artist! Don’t expect the new Mona Lisa.

Finished

I needed something to draw and thought it would be fun to draw the See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil monkeys. I used different images as inspiration and started with a sketch.

Once the sketch was finished I did the line work. Sketching the different monkeys didn’t take too long. It’s the line work that takes the longest for me. I erase a lot and redo almost every line at least ten times.

After the line work is finally done, it’s time to colour everything. This is the part I love. I can just turn off my brain and focus on the colouring. I don’t have to worry about making things perfect anymore.

So here’s the finished project! What do you guys think? Would you like me to do this more often?

Have a nice Sunday!

  1. I think your drawings are great! I like drawing as well but when I say I’m no good at it I really mean it lol which is fine we aren’t always great or even good at everything we like.

I would love to see more of your work!

    1. You’re absolutely right. I do feel like a lot of people stop doing the things they like just because others tell them they are not good at it. We don’t have to be amazing at everything we do and that’s what I hope others will learn from this post!
